What to do, step by step

Seek medical care immediately and ask for a certificate or report describing the injury or illness.

The employer must issue the CAT (Work Accident Notification); if Colégio São Bento does not issue it, the worker, their dependents, the union, the doctor or a public authority may do so (art. 22 of Law 8.213/91).

If you are away from work for more than 15 days, apply for the incapacity benefit with the INSS (National Social Security Institute) through Meu INSS or by phone at 135.
